Torre do Banespa - Banespa´s Tower

A landmark from the city of São Paulo, the Altino Arantes Building, inaugurated on June 27th, 1947, offers a number of cultural activities and the most beautiful view of the capital of the state. For 20 years, the building was the highest of the city and, in 1948, was considered the biggest reinforced concrete structure of the world.
Designed by Plinio Botelho do Amaral, it was inspired by the Empire States Building of New York. With some adaptations to the original design, the firm of Camargo & Mesquita was in charge of its construction.
The lobby of Altino Arantes Building, measuring 379 square meters, is a venue for exhibitions and cultural events. The chandelier attracts special attention: made of National crystal, it´s 13 meters high, 2 meters of diameter, 900 lamps, 10 thousand pieces and weighs 1,5 ton.
Located in the 35th floor of the building, tower offers a dazzling panoramic view of Downtown São Paulo and surrounding.
From the 161 meter high observatory, is the ultimate vantage point to experience the 360 degrees view of up to 40 km of the impressive urban scenery of the capital of São Paulo.
